Overview
Hansen’s Forwarding at a glance
Hansen's Forwarding (L. Hansen's Forwarding Ltd., branded Hansen's Vehicle Relocation) is a Canadian car shipping company headquartered on Milner Avenue in Scarborough, Toronto. It has moved vehicles across Canada since 1980 and between Canada and the United States since 2000.
Hansen's runs its own fleet of more than 270 car carriers and has a long-standing partnership with CP Rail, so most moves are handled in-house by truck, rail or both. It offers door-to-door pickup and delivery to most places in Canada and the U.S., or cheaper terminal-to-terminal service.
It has seven terminals: Scarborough (Toronto), Annacis Island in Delta (Vancouver), southeast Calgary, Springfield (Winnipeg), Regina, Côte Saint-Luc (Montreal) and Dartmouth (Halifax). An enclosed service runs out of Calgary, reaching Vancouver to the west and Winnipeg to the east.
Beyond cars and SUVs, Hansen's ships pickup trucks, cargo vans, oversized, specialty and antique vehicles, electric vehicles, auction purchases and whole fleets. It serves private customers, hundreds of dealerships, moving companies and corporate clients, who get a portal for direct booking, vehicle tracking and bulk invoice payment.
Toyota named Hansen's Carrier of the Year in 2019 and gave it a Gold Carrier Award in 2020 for on-time and damage-free delivery. It has also received Toyota's Kaizen award five times, most recently in 2024 for its vehicle collision prevention program.
